Hi everyone. Nick Beard here, travelling with the Prime Minister, covering #elxn42 for MetaCanada.ca.
A lot of people have asked me what it is like travelling with the Prime Minister – does he tell cool stories, do you get to hang out with Laureen, do they let you drive the campaign bus, etc.
The answers to most of those questions is no. In reality, it is quite boring.
However one particularly gross incident stands out – the other day, we were in Belleville, ON, for a whistle-stop rally. Before the event, we press types were holed up in a waiting room of sorts, away from the huge crowd of CPC supporters.
Right before the event, I witness Andy Blatchford – a reporter with the Canadian Press – spit his gum out, right onto the carpeted floor!
The best proof I could get was this bad photo with my phone:
What the hell, Andy?
And if that wasn’t bad enough, he then went on to cover the rally, as if nothing had happened.
