It has to be pretty easy to be a left wing politician in 2016.

All you have to do is take a stance on an issue, any issue really, then insult your opponent for having different views. You can call them homophobic, sexist, transphobic, or islamaphobic but the one that seems to work the best is just to call your opponent a plain old racist. If your opponent happens to be an older white male you’ve already won the argument, because the majority of the left will just blindly agree that they are. God forbid you try to discuss this issue in any depth with their proponents because you, as an everyday citizen, will be just as racist as the rest.

“This is not the spirit of Canadian liberty, my friends. It is the spirit of the Komagata Maru. Of the St. Louis. Of ‘none is too many.” – Justin Trudeau

Justin Trudeau and Thomas Mulcair embraced this trend in Canada during the most recent election and the Niqab debate. Now, there were good arguments on both sides of the debate, freedom of religion on one side and Canadian values and the rights of women on the other side. But while the Conservative Party of Canada were forced to argue the debate on its merits, Trudeau got away with simply calling the party racist and comparing their views to the discriminatory Liberal policy of turning away Jews prior to World War II.

“This is not the spirit of Canadian liberty, my friends. It is the spirit of the Komagata Maru. Of the St. Louis. Of ‘none is too many.”

How was Stephen Harper supposed to argue with such childish logic? He may as well of just said “Nuh-uh, you’re a Nazi, Mr. Harper.”

What about the failed Liberal campaign promise of letting in 25,000 refugees? Opposition to that plan was clearly racist, and anyone suggesting anything other than fully trusting the UN to properly screen refugees is a society devil that Quebec premier Phillip Couillard told us about. You’re either a racist or xenophobic. The Prime Minister actually made nation-wide announcements for graffiti and a pepper-spray incident to prove how tolerant he is, just because they were directed at Syrian refugees. No mention of any of the other thousands of Canadians who were victims of crime. They should just suck it up, they’re probably a racist anyways.

Kathleen Wynne is another example of how to shoot down opposition with insults. Her new sex education program was horribly conceived and was released to huge opposition in Ontario. It very well may have been written by a pedophile and it teaches children unproven theories about transgenderism (if it’s not a confusing enough time when you’re entering puberty, why not tell children they could very well be the wrong gender too). Again though, it’s a controversial topic that both sides can robustly debate.

“Remember, part of this has taken on a very negative tone because I’m a lesbian. And there have been aspersions cast because somehow I’m connected to this curriculum, and somehow this is my agenda” – Kathleen Wynne

So how does the premier of Canada’s largest province respond to such legitimate criticism? By calling her critics homophobes. Yes, people who think morality and values are not the job of the state are confronted by the argument that they are just a bunch of gay hating bigots. The left is all for separating church and state, but they will not tolerate any separation from their progressive values and everybody’s beliefs.

However this kind of Rainy Days politics works. Bernie Sanders just told all white people that they don’t know what it’s like to be poor. It’d be interesting to see him give the same speech at a homeless shelter and let all the white people there know how rich they really are.

“They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” – Racist comments by Donald Trump

On the topic of American politicians, there’s no denying that (much to the chagrin of the Republican elite, the media, and nominal university conservatives) Donald Trump is having an amazing campaign. He’s the presumptive Republican nominee, which nobody saw coming, and he has some strong views about some controversial issues. Rest assured all politicians have strong views on these issues, but you’ll never know what they are for fear that they may be called a bad name.

Trump told Americans he wanted to build a wall because illegal immigration is costing jobs, letting drugs into the country, and letting criminals into the country. How quickly the left spun that into Trump supposedly calling all Mexicans criminals, and that he’s a racist. Do they really not know what a cartel is? There is absolutely no denying that Mexico is allowing drugs and criminals into America, along with people illegally searching for a better future. But of course, if you look for any kind of middle ground you’re a racist. You know what else is middle ground? Germany. In Europe. Home of the Nazis.

“Hatred of foreigners, racism and extremism have no place in this country. We are a country based on democracy, tolerance and openness to the world.” – Angela Merkel threatening anyone who disagrees with her 800,000 with the racist label.

Of course the Nazi movement was all but eliminated thanks in large part to countries like Canada and America when they were not crippled by social justice warriors preventing any semblance of logic into the mainstream discussion. But now Germany is led by left wing leader extraordinaire Angela Merkel, who apparently sees nothing wrong with letting into the country nearly a million refugees from a wartorn region known as a breeding hive of terrorism. People are literally being thrown out of their homes to make room for these refugees and nobody will forget about the massive gang-rape incident around New Years. But Angela Merkel has an name for all her detractors: Islamophobes. There is no reason to not want to let in such a huge number of unscreened migrants except for being racist, so if you’re going to complain Germany has no patience for dissenting views racism.

Of course left wing politicians aren’t resigned to only insulting the other side to push forward their progressive agenda. If you ever try to argue back against the insults the left hurls at you, you probably just weren’t aware of the current year.
