What “Evidence-Based Decision Making” Really Means in Justin Trudeau’s Government

Written by MetaCanada correspondent LicencetoShill Justin Trudeau has campaigned on a renewal of “evidence-based decision making” and promised an end to Harper’s so-called “anti-science” approach. But Trudeau has never actually explained what this phrase means or how he would apply it to his policies. Much like his “from the heart out” economic plan, this promise is clear as mud and while it seems straightforward, actions speak louder than words. “Evidence-based decision making” simply means that Trudeau has already made his decision, but needs to desperately find the evidence to support it even when the facts do not. We’ve seen this already on the missing and murdered Aboriginal women file. Trudeau’s Minister of Aboriginal Affairs has already come to a conclusion that colonialism and racism are to blame for the missing and murdered women, and even went so far as to say an aboriginal women is less likely to be murdered by a spouse or intimate partner than the women in the general population. That’s just plain false. While it’s true that out of the murdered aboriginal women proportionately less are killed by their spouses than the general Canadian population, since aboriginal women are murdered at disproportionately higher rate it means they are actually 4 times more likely to be murdered by a spouse or intimate lover. Despite any results from the $40 Million inquiry being wasted on someone who...

Vanity Fair article about Justin Trudeau the subject of a rare National Post article

Jake Edminston of the National Post broke some groundbreaking news for Canadians this week when he announced that another media organization, Vanity Fair, was “bestowing an honor” on Justin Trudeau by writing a fluffy piece about his massive celebrity appeal. “In the coming days, Vanity Fair magazine will bestow an honour on Justin Trudeau rarely afforded to Canadian politicians: a profile in its pages.” Jake’s article, entitled “Justin Trudeau the subject of a rare — for Canadian politicians — Vanity Fair profile“, points out that the Vanity Fair article discusses Trudeau’s famous and interesting parents. Jake also details a sexy picture of Trudeau that is available in the other article, stating that there is, in fact, “one patterned sock visible”, and that his suit was “dark.” The article in question does not, however, mention anything relevant to the Liberal leader’s policies, abilities, or accomplishments. “The article was published on Vanity Fair‘s website Thursday, accompanied by a photo of the Liberal Party leader perched atop a railing in the Parliamentary Library — dressed in a dark suit with one patterned sock visible.” The article also states that the other article states that Justin Trudeau is “the closest thing to JFK Jr.” and that he is “taking a page from [Barack] Obama’s playbook”. ““And now...

NDP leader Thomas Mulcair is a “fucking bear”

OTTAWA—Federal NDP members and supporters were shocked to learn from an internal memo that party leader Thomas Mulcair has officially come out as a bear. He has not yet announced what type of bear he is , but party insiders suspect that he is a black bear granted his omnivorous diet, his smooth, rounded ears, and the coarseness of his coat. Liberal and Conservative MPs alike have speculated that the satellite offices that the NDP have been accused of improperly funding with taxpayer money have actually been utilized as grooming stations, purposed specifically to remove fur from certain parts of Mulcair’s face, as well as from his fore-paws and mane. A MetaCanada NDP insider has hinted that the groomers, hired from local zoos, were on the verge of leaking the story, spurring Mulcair’s Media Director to proactively go public with the information. It is unclear whether Mulcair or any his immediate family members were involved in a bear attack at Suncor Energy in Alberta earlier this month, but this revelation sheds light on why Mulcair has largely been silent about the issue of pesticide-related bee deaths in Canada…because he’s a fucking bear (any zoologist can tell you that bears hate bees). Of course, Mulcair is not the first federal party leader to admit to being an animal (/animorph). Green Party leader Elizabeth May has long ago come out about being a horse,...
